We are an in-person college certificate program with 2D and 3D animation, character design, storyboard classes, and much more. Although our program is primarily in-person, we also offer 2 fantastic introductory online courses for students to see if animation is right for them.

INTRODUCTION TO ANIMATION- Instructor GAVIN DELL
Gavin has 30 years with Disney, Warner Bros., Activision on projects such as Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, Family Guy, Disenchantment, Tomb Raider, Silent Hill, Gears of War, The Thing, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.

This fun introductory course will introduce students to the animation industry and how it works as well as learning to animate in 2D. Students will learn the principles of animation and many inside secrets to how professional animator's work. As well as animation, students will learn how to design characters and basic storyboarding so they can get an overall perspective of different jobs in the industry.
This 8-week animation course, offered at our Kansas City academy or online, will give students a great introduction to the entire animation process on a real Hollywood production. Intermediate drawing skills are required for this class

Kyle has 17 years with Dreamworks Animation on Shrek 2, Kung Fu Panda, Megamind, How to Train Your Dragon and many years working in previsualization on films like Spiderman Homecoming, Thor Ragnorok, Godzilla King of the Monsters

In this foundational course we introduce students to 3D animation in a simple and fun way using characters like the Iron Giant, Jerry Mouse and Wall E! Students will be amazed and delighted at their ability to learn to move and act a character in 3D with no drawing skills needed. Learn about what 3D animators do and how the industry works as an animator for the biggest studios in the business.
This 8-week course will give students a great introduction to the moviemaking process from an insider's perspective on a real Hollywood production. Basic computer skills are required. Students will get to keep 3 great characters to continue to learn with after the class is completed.

Did you know when you are watching animation 30 frames go by per second? Did you know the voice actors act out the script into recordings for storyboard artists to then be the first to visualize the script? They say animators are actors, only with a pencil, well now they use a lot of different tools. This course will introduce you to the basic fundamentals that make animation work, and where animators fit into the process of making films, games, and television shows. We will discuss the history of animation and see where it is going. It is an eye opening introduction to the magic, the art, and the craft. Great for younger students as well ages 14 up with strong basic computer skills. On the final day of class, you will learn to animate the Iron Giant or Lego Batman!
3D Animation fundamentals will teach you how to use Autodesk Maya to create animation using character rigs. It’s like puppeting your character without drawing! You will learn the basics of weight, posing, timing and movement to create some awesome pieces for your portfolio using characters like the Iron Giant, Homer Simpson, Woody and Buzz and even Spongebob!
