WHY HAA EXISTS
Our founder, Gavin Dell, is a Kansas City native who spent decades working in professional animation — and built Hollywood Animation Academy to bring serious, studio-style training back to the Midwest.
Our instructors have contributed to major films, games, and television productions — and now focus on preparing students for real studio expectations.
We don’t focus on degrees. We focus on building competitive portfolios -because that’s what studios actually evaluate.
Most colleges teach animation as one subject among many. Hollywood Animation Academy exists for one reason only: animation.
Our programs are designed by directors and senior artists who have spent decades reviewing reels, supervising productions, and mentoring junior talent. We know what studios actually look for — and what they don’t.
Students are not graded on attendance or theory alone. They are evaluated on whether their work meets professional standards.

Meet live online one night a week for 8 weeks, with hands-on access to industry software, learning directly from Hollywood pros, and see your skills grow fast. It’s the perfect starting point for students, creatives, and career-changers alike. Our next online courses begin in early March.
